St Ignatius 2002
41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 11% Malbec, 13% Cabernet
Franc
The nose is full of berries, cherries, spice and earthy
Cabernet characters. This is backed up by the palate which
is full of lifted fruit, blackberries and plum from the Cabernets
with spice from the Malbec creeping through. A complex wine,
with firm tannins, well balanced oak and acids which lead
to a long, lingering finish. A great accompaniment to a tender
steak or rich casserole. Cellar this one for 6-10 years to
fully enjoy all it has to offer. |
